Prince llewellyn ap Gruffydd was killed near Builth in 1282. He was known as the last Prince of an independent Wales before its conquest by Edward I of England. It's said that during the remaining days of his struggle he took shelter from the English in this cave.
Situated at the foot of Aberedw Rocks the cave is full of carvings stretching back centuries. Surrounded by ancient mixed woodland it's a pleasant walk up to the cave whilst on top of Aberedw itself there are views covering the Brecon Beacons and Wye Valley below.
